Dear Colleagues,

Following the successful first and second editions of the ESU Masterclass on Lasers in Urology, the European School of Urology (ESU) and the EAU Section of Uro-Technology (ESUT) are again collaborating for the 3rd ESU Masterclass on Lasers to be held in Barcelona from 3-4 November, 2016.

The aim of this two-day course is to provide a detailed description of all applications of Laser technology in Urology, including the management of benign prostatic obstruction, bladder and upper tract tumours, urinary tract strictures as well as stone disease. The use of contemporary laser systems such as the Holmium laser, the 532-nm lasers, KTP-80W, HPS-120W and XPS-180, Diode laser and the Thulium: Yttrium-Aluminium-Garnet laser will be examined and the various techniques will be described in detail.

Participants will not only master the basic concepts of each laser treatment, but will gain knowledge on the ideal candidate for each approach; tips and tricks to optimize the efficacy of laser treatment, and the management of commonly encountered complications, among others.

Apart from expert lectures and interactive discussion, the 3rd ESU Masterclass on Lasers in Urology will feature prerecorded operations and live surgery aiming to provide participants with a realistic insight of clinical laser practice.

The top 3 reasons not to miss the ESU Masterclass on Lasers

Comprehensive overview of laser use in urology

This two-day masterclass is a collaboration of the European School of Urology and the EAU Section of Uro-Technology. It covers all applications of laser technology in urology, including benign prostatic obstruction, bladder and urinary tract tumours, strictures and stone disease.

Expert speakers, interactive discussion

International leaders of the field will present in-depth courses that also encourage interaction with participants. ESU Masterclasses are based on best practices and evidence-based medicine, but the experience of the individual tutors will give additional, unique insights.

Live Surgery and Pre-recorded procedures

The Lasers Masterclass will feature live surgery at one of Europe’s leading surgical centres. Additionally, pre-recorded operations will allow moderators to point out specific techniques and procedures- once again often based on personal experience. Learn from the best!
